Might as well have it and not need it was my the philosophy I went with. Oddly enough, I’m of a mind that in the M1 16 GB is overkill for most people. I type this on an M1 with 16 GB right now and honestly, even though I’m a power user who tends to need a lot of ram, I really don’t feel like having 8 GB would have m...

Type on PDF: All You Need to Know
It's only because Apple gave us a 128 MB MacBook Air with 2 GB of RAM with no upgrade option, so I never even thought about upgrading it. Now that most people have 32 or 64 GB of ram it seems that having 16 GB goes out the window. I was also a little peeved that there was an M3 model with only 10 GB of ram, but it was too far in between and only has 1 TB of storage anyway, so there you go... Anyway, I wasn’t a fan of the 15-inch MacBook, so I went with the 14-inch MacBook this time. The 14-inch is an improvement over the 15-inch, so I felt it was worth it to buy a machine of this size... I was also intrigued by the fact that the 14-inch has an optical drive. This is great because it would mean I'm not locked in.
