What happened to the gun catalog in the 1950 to 1990? I have been looking for some PDF online, but there are no semi-automatic rifles in them.
32–20 is a very under rated round these days. The UP Railroad use to issue Colt pump action rifles in 32–20 to railroad police in the past. I have two Ruger Blackhawks in 32–20 I enjoy shooting. T also have 32 Mag cylinders that have never been put in them. I also have a Colt Police Positive and several rifles chambered for it. For the average day shooting, it is a wonderful round. 115 grain Lyman SWC shoots well and will hit well out to 100 yards with a bit of practice out of my Blackhawks. Knew a policeman who felt it was better than a 38 Spl with a 125 grain load. Better accuracy and penetration. My daughter shot 32-20 as a kid. Still gets a nostalgic twinge for it occasionally and ask me to bring one out to shoot. I'm sure some current gun writer or Utube person will “rediscover" it in the near future and proclaim it the best something or other. Those of us old timers who have been shooting it all along will just smile.

It is a shame that the gun will never get any new lines or colors, and it is a pity it will never be a very useful caliber. My guess is most current and former police and military officers are probably shooting these things and finding them very handy. I think the old timers who were once so impressed by this old standard will be pleased to hear that it is no longer good for defensive purposes. Those who don't have their old magazines can probably get by using more modern offerings. I was on duty in this caliber for a few years in the Vietnam era, and it does have its uses. You can still see them flying around, usually carried by special forces and some former South Vietnamese military. As I said, it still does have many of its older and well respected uses and many people.
